Heterosis: hybrid vigor caused by the crossing of two different species of the same genus producing a hybrid offspring that exhibits superior traits compared to both of its parents, such as increased size, growth rate, biomass, yield, or stress tolerance. This increased performance is attributed to the combination of genetic material from genetically distinct parental lines, which increases heterozygosity and can mask deleterious recessive alleles present in inbred parents. The primary genetic explanations for heterosis include the dominance hypothesis, where beneficial dominant alleles from one parent mask harmful recessive alleles from the other, and the overdominance hypothesis, where heterozygous genotypes are inherently more fit than either homozygous parent.

This Blood Orange Diesel is a high yielding CBD dominate auto flower. She exhibits terpenes of tangerines, redwood, bubblegum, and candy grape. I originally made her by back crossing the Shaolin Gleaux Temple cut with a select F4 Alpen Gleaux phenotype. By searching through the offspring of the F1 seeds I was able to find high-yielding a tangerine dominant phenotype. The Blood Orange Diesel was used to make F1 hybrids for the Blood Orange Edition Line.
